We, the people of Workington, are the Weorcingas (Weorc's people). Although spelt in the classical Anglo-Saxon form, local dialect obviously compels us to pronounce it Wukingas. This blog is my 'electronic note book', to store (as drafts), develop and then post contributions to our shared history. Some content may later help strengthen Workington's entries in Wikipedia, the largest and most searched on-line encyclopaedia.
